Stancoff Company Limited was founded in 2018 by Manzi Junior Francis and Elly Wakadala, two recent university graduates who saw entrepreneurship as a better opportunity than the challenging job market in Uganda. With support from their parents and a friend, Mr. Phillip Kamutenga, they began as coffee cherry sourcing agents for multinational coffee companies.

Despite having limited experience and facing many early challenges, they persevered and gradually developed a deep understanding of the coffee value chain. What started out of necessity evolved into a mission to create value for farmers and produce high-quality coffee.

Today, Stancoff is a registered Ugandan coffee processing and export company operating centralised processing stations in Rubirizi and Rwimi (Western Uganda) and supplying premium Ugandan coffees to international markets.

In Kabarole District, near Fort Portal in Western Uganda, Stancoff works with a network of 203 coffee farmers, including 80 women farmers. The farmers are supported by lead farmers who purchase coffee from other farmers in their communities and prepare it for delivery to Stancoff.

During the season, these farmers supplied approximately 70 tonnes of coffee cherries, which ultimately resulted in close to 10 tonnes of export-quality green coffee beans. The coffee is initially processed at Stancoff’s facility in Rubirizi and then transported to Mbale in Eastern Uganda for dry milling before being exported.
